Her story is told in her recently published memoir,\u202f<em>Things Fell Apart, but the Center Held.<\/em>\u202fShe is also a participant in<em>\u202fAll God&#8217;s Children,\u202f<\/em>the film\u202fwhich documents the abuse at Mamou Alliance Academy.\u202fDrawing on her own experience of trauma and its lasting effects,\u202fDianne\u202fspeaks at national conferences and in churches to raise awareness of abuse in religious settings and to encourage abuse survivors on their healing journeys.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dianne\u202fholds a bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Akron and a master\u2019s degree from Marygrove College. Her career of teaching English and French spanned four decades and included teaching in private and public schools in the U.S. and abroad.\u202fDianne\u202fand her husband Bud, who have been married for over fifty years, live in Akron, Ohio. They have three married children and seven grandchildren.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 30%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chris Brown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice-President, <em>Board Member since 2016<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris Brown was born in Tunisia, and his childhood was spent, among many moves, in North Africa and the United States. After boarding school in Swansea, South Wales, he moved to Scotland where he earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in French with Philosophy followed by a bachelor\u2019s degree &#8211; later also a master\u2019s- in theology. During thirty years as a pastor, Chris developed an increasing interest in counselling psychology, in due course gaining a postgraduate level diploma in Personal Construct Psychology. In 2016 Chris joined the board of MK SafetyNet as a representative of the British and European community of MKs. She is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and worked in Food Management at Penn York retreat and camping center. She formed several Facebook groups over the years for MKs who are survivors of abuse in the missionary setting, and she holds space for many countless survivors to share their stories. Shary is married to Clint and has 3 children and 4 grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;\u202f<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:30% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/mksafetynet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Rich-Darr-819x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-132 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rich Darr<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Board Member since <\/em> 2011<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After recently retiring as a pastor in the United Methodist Church in Chicago, Rich and his wife Donna moved home to Akron, Ohio, where he continues research and writing on care of creation and care of children in mission settings. Rich is an MK from Mali, West Africa who survived abuse at Mamou Alliance Academy in Guinea Republic. He was a co-founder of MKSN in 1999 and a participant in the documentary <em>All God\u2019s Children<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 30%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Caleb Adams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Board Member since 2023 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caleb&nbsp;Adams is a passionate advocate for the safety and protection of missionary kids around the world. With 18 years of experience as a former missionary kid in the Philippines,&nbsp;Caleb&nbsp;understands the importance of ensuring the safety of children in vulnerable situations. Along with serving as the Project Manager of MKSN, she is also an advocate for those who have been harmed in the church, particularly women coming out of patriarchal spaces. She is currently doing research and writing on the intersection of hierarchy, patriarchy, and abuse in church and mission settings. Sarah has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Malone College and taught for several years at the elementary school level. She previously served as Administrative Assistant and Director of Communications for Love Akron, a non-profit organization. She also holds a Master of Arts in New Testament from Northern Seminary. He has been a pastor of several churches since beginning his ministry in 1983. He resigned from Curtis Baptist Bible Church in Campbell, NY, where he served as their pastor for 20 years, to devote himself fully to the ministry of Speaking Truth in Love. He is the author of <em>Tear Down This Wall of Silence<\/em>.
