CONFERENCE 2013 - PRESENTATIONS
Cutting Through the Challenges of Institutional Centered Missions
The Need for Authentic Gospel-centered transformation
Boz Tchividjian, JD, G.R.A.C.E Founder and President
At the MK Safety Net Conference Boz Tchividjian outlined the dangers
of institutional self-protection, showing how many Christian institutions respond to abuse disclosures and demands for independent reviews. He described common methods of "Christianized" institutional self-protection that many of us at the conference could identify with. He also presented strategies to successfully address road blocks Christian institutions use to avoid taking appropriate action to reports of abuse. Take a look at this PowerPoint for a summary of his presentation.

Impact on Family Systems
Dr. Bob Campbell, Co-Director at the Willow Wellness Center
Bob's session at the MK Safety Net Conference explained how the impact of childhood trauma affects not only the victim but the entire family dynamic. Bob showed how relationships in the family system between the parents, between the children and the parents, and between siblings are all shifted by the after-effects of the abuse in the life of the victim. Bob then shared how healing can begin in a family affected by abuse. The link to his Power Point will give many specific examples.
